California Pizza Kitchen is opening a full-service restaurant June 21 at the Fashion Place Mall, 6227 S. State.

New items that are being added to the chain's menu include Four Seasons Pizza, Roasted Artichoke and Spinach Pizza, Baby Clam Linguini, Italian Deli Sandwich and Turkey Stack Sandwich.

It will be open Monday-Thurday, 11 a.m-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; and Sundays, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. (801-290-1124 or cpk.com).

Whole Foods Market in Cottonwood Heights will donate a percentage of sales from June 17 to the nonprofit Snowbird Renaissance Center. The funds will be used to pay for on-mountain free summer concerts, free Adventure Series presentations in the winter and monthly educational classes on backcountry safety (www.snowbirdrc.org)

Pei Wei Asian Diner is hosting a virtual cooking lesson June 16 at 7 p.m. on Pei Wei Asian Diner's Livestream Broadcast Page at www.Livestream.com/PeiWei.

The company's executive chef will demonstrate three mango-inspired dishes: mango mint sake cooler, coconut-kaffir lime shrimp with mango rolls, and mango ginger tart.

Smith's Food & Drug Stores is donating $1 million to Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation. The contribution comes through customer fund-raising efforts, an annual vendor golf tournament and employee-hosted special events.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, the national burrito restaurant chain, announced last week that all beef used in its spicy shredded beef barbacoa is now naturally raised.

In all, Chipotle expects to serve more than 75 million pounds of naturally raised meat in 2010, including all of its pork, more than 80 percent of its chicken, and 85 percent of its beef.

All of its naturally raised meat comes from animals that are raised in a humane way, never given antibiotics or added hormones and fed a pure vegetarian diet (Chipotle.com).

Jamba Juice is offering Superfruit Smoothies for $1 all day long on June 16, with a coupon from www.jambajuice.com. The smoothie chain has introduced smoothies made from the Yumberry superfruit. Derived from Asia, the fruit contains antioxidants and is an excellent source of Vitamin C. The company has launched Summer Feel Good Specials, with daily deals and a daily Feel Good Hour. American Farmland Trust has opened voting to select "America's Favorite Farmers Markets" at www.farmland.org/vote. One small, medium, large and boutique farmers market will win a shipment of No Farms No Food tote bags and other prizes. Voting deadline is Aug. 31.

The Biggest Loser Resort in Ivins announced last week that it will open a second resort in Malibu, Calif. The new resort will ease demand on the Fitness Ridge facility and is located 10 minutes from King Gillette Ranch, where NBC's "The Biggest Loser" is filmed.
