MOAB — A Clearfield man drowned over the weekend during a rafting trip along the Colorado River.
Lawrence Evaro, 47, fell out of the rubber raft just before entering White Rapids, where heavy currents and large rapids kept him underwater, according to a report from the Grand County Sheriff's Office.
A boat guide and others pulled Evaro from the water and performed CPR. He was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Evaro was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident, police said.
