COVE FORT — A rollover on southbound I-15 near here injured four children and two adults after the van they were in went out of control.
A Utah Highway Patrol news release said the van drifted off the road at 4:44 p.m. The driver overcorrected after attempting to pass a slower-moving vehicle.
The sudden motion caused the van to roll four or five times until it landed upright.
UHP said a female, 31, from Tooele and her son, 8, were improperly restrained and ejected. She was admitted to the University of Utah Hospital, and he was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center with serious injuries.
Three other children in the van, ages 10, 5 and 2 months, were also admitted to the hospital in varying conditions. The 61-year-old female driver was admitted to the hospital in serious condition.
