BASEBALL: All-America honors continued to come in for University of Utah baseball player C.J. Cron on Wednesday as he earned first-team All-America honors from Ping!Baseball.
Cron was selected as the first-team designated hitter. He has also earned first-team All-America honors from the Collegiate Baseball newspaper. Cron leads the nation in RBIs per game (1.65) and is fifth in slugging percentage (.817) while ranking eighth in home runs per game (0.41). He also stands 11th nationally in RBIs (81). Cron was the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and was named to the MWC All-Tournament team.
Utah's last first-team All-American was shortstop Ryan Khoury in 2006.
