WASHINGTON — The end of the school year is the same for the Obamas as other families: lots of school events.
In between their day jobs Thursday, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama attended two school functions for their daughters, 11-year-old Malia and 8-year-old Sasha.
The parents traveled to Sidwell Friends School in Bethesda, Md., for a morning event with Sasha. About 10 hours later — after several White House meetings and a trip to the State Department — the president joined his wife and her mother, Marian Robinson, at the Sidwell school Malia attends in northwest Washington.
Reporters were not allowed inside the schools, and White House officials would not describe the events the Obamas attended.
