SOUTH JORDAN — A former GOP candidate for governor is heading up Tim Bridgewater's U.S. Senate campaign finance committee.
Bridgewater, who will face fellow Republican Mike Lee in the party's June 22 primary, announced Wednesday that Merit Medical CEO Fred Lampropoulos will lead his fundraising team.
Lampropoulos ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2004 and has stayed active in politics. He said last fall he will consider running for a yet-to-be-decided office in 2012.
Joining Lampropoulos on the committee are a dozen business and community leaders, including lobbyist Doug Foxley, VSpring Capital managing director Dinesh Patel and GOP activist Cleo Atkin.
