On behalf of Mrs. Jenson's fourth-grade class, I would like to thank the Deseret News for a wonderful year of fantastic articles that enriched our study of Utah history. Several times each month, I would clip articles that built upon the fourth-grade curriculum. Using articles from the paper, our class discussed local history, important people, current events, beautiful places, scientific discoveries, Olympians with Utah connections, Utah's national parks, historic and new buildings, random acts of kindness, local art, places we visited on field trips, stories honoring veterans, Utah soldiers serving today, animals at the zoo, hikes, fishing, wildlife and how Utah has changed over the years. The list of subjects could go on and on.
We especially enjoyed the beautiful photography which showcased Utah's natural beauty. We also enjoyed the history in Marc Haddock's articles which taught us of days gone by. Thank you for helping all readers learn just a bit more about Utah this year.
