WEST VALLEY CITY — UTOPIA board members voted Monday to approve a two-year contract extension with Chief Executive Officer Todd Marriott.
The former BYU football player will stay at the Utah Telecommunications Open-infrastructure Agency under the same terms he accepted when first hired in 2008, according to the board resolution. The new agreement lasts two years.
Marriott started his tenure just after UTOPIA took out $181 million to build a new fiber-optic infrastructure. The quasi-governmental company is again asking for funds under a new interlocal agreement. Member cities for the entity are being asked to vote on the issue by June.
