Rep. Jim Matheson is right to oppose the resumption of nuclear testing (Deseret News, May 22). The best way to make sure that these devastating weapons are never tested again is to support U.S. Senate ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.
In an era of mass-casualty terrorism, the fewer nuclear weapons there are, the safer we all will be. Promoting a test ban is a step in the right direction. It deserves bipartisan support.
