Well, it's been a cool-ish spring here along the Wasatch Front for sure.
But there were enough warm days last week to give me hope that summer may show up after all.
So I got all busy and made up my annual summer "to do" list, which I share with you now.
Feel free to send suggestions!
This summer I plan to:
1. Stretch out in the sun and sleep like a cat
2. Grow tomatoes in a pot
3. Go to the beach and listen to the waves at night
4. Sit at Spring Mobile ballpark and eat salted peanuts while watching the mountains turn blue
5. Take my Newfie for a swim in Rockport Reservoir
6. Walk barefoot across the lawn.
7. Find the family of horned owls living in the cemetery by our house
8. Eat homemade ice cream
9. Learn how to fish again
10. Sleep outside in my backyard
11. Train for the St. George marathon
12. Attend family reunions.
(MEMO TO SELF: Stop at KFC on the way to pick up chicken and slaw.
Hopefully there will be time to:
13. Ride a bike in Liberty Park at least once a week
14. Read a stack of detective novels and anything that makes me laugh
15. Watch fireworks
16. Step outside at night and smell the nicotiana in bloom
17. Grill hamburgers and steak
18. Run down City Creek Canyon
19. Attend the weddings of my friends' children
20. Deadhead roses early in the morning while the air is still cool.
Of course I'll try to:
21. Hike up to Cecret Lake at least once with my husband,
22. Knit — but only easy stuff like dish rags and scarves
23. Lose my panty hose
