High school softball: 5A beats 4A, 3A beats 2A in All-Star Games

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — In the 2010 Senior Softball All-Star Games, bigger was better.

The 5A senior all-stars defeated the 4A all-stars 7-1, while the 3A all-stars defeated the 2A team 9-4 on Friday.

In the 5A/4A game, Raven King of Lone Peak had the only extra base hit for the 5A stars with a double. Alexis Hart of Bountiful and Brittany McCray led the 4A all-stars offensively. Hart had a double, and McCray smacked a triple and a home run.

In the 3A/2A contest, Chelsi Townsend led the 3A all-stars with two hits, while Lexie Reidhead led the 2A team with two hits.

The senior all-star games were played at Cottonwood Complex and were chosen by a vote of the Softball Coaches Association.
