While the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, certainly speaks good Spanish, he seems to embody the Yiddish word "chutzpah." On his recent visit to the United States, Calderon took it upon himself to lecture Americans about the Arizona immigration law. This from a man who is presiding over a country spiralling downward under the weight of lawlessness, drug violence and rampant public corruption.
Perhaps Calderon would have some standing to address Americans about immigration and amnesty if his own nation welcomed with open arms Salvadorans, Hondurans and other peoples, but, sensibly enough, they do not.
