VERNAL — With the arrival of spring and good weather for camping, several ranger districts have partially opened roads within Ashley National Forest to allow access to camping areas.
Flaming Gorge and Roosevelt Duchesne ranger districts already have opened a number of roads, and the Vernal Ranger District plans to open several Saturday.
Visitors planning to use the roads are strongly encouraged to view the new motorized vehicle use maps before venturing out. Hard copies of the maps will not be available until next month, but those looking to explore Ashley National Forest in the next few weeks can visit www.fs.fed.us/r4/ashley to gain access to the maps and a list of roads that have opened or will be opening soon.
