CLEARFIELD — Four Utah aquatic centers have teamed up with the American Red Cross to take part in the world's largest swimming lesson on June 3.
The global event seeks to raise awareness about the importance of swimming lessons for children. Lessons will be held around the world at the same time. Locally, the lesson will begin at 8 a.m.
Certified water safety instructors at each aquatic center will be offering a beginner's swimming course for children ages 3 and older. The lesson is free and is open to any children willing to participate.
Participating in the event will be the Clearfield Aquatic Center, 825 S. State; Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center, 5624 S. Cougar Lane; Park City Aquatic Center, 2465 W. Kilby Road; and South Davis Aquatic Center, 550 N. 200 West, Bountiful.
Countries participating in the event include Canada, Lebanon, Germany, South Korea and Zambia.
