PAYSON — City leaders have approved a proposed 2010-11 fiscal year budget of $8.2 million, according to Jeanette Curtis, city recorder.
The total proposed budget, however, is more than $25.7 million. As with many cities, Payson has been meeting general fund shortages with transfers from the enterprise funds, including the storm drain fund. Thus far, the city has taken $190,934 from that budget, Curtis said.
City revenues represent no increase in property taxes or employee salaries. However, the City Council has cut five positions.
The public hearing for the final budget is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 2 at City Hall, 439 W. Utah Ave.
