SPANISH FORK — Emergency crews called a medical helicopter to evacuate at least one person injured Friday evening in a car accident in Spanish Fork Canyon.
A Utah Highway Patrol official said the crash happened about 6 p.m. and involved six people. Most of the injured were in stable condition, but one person sustained life-threatening injuries and had to be airlifted to University Hospital.
According to a UHP report, a vehicle traveling westbound on state Route 6 near Milepost 181 crossed the center lines and struck a 30-foot travel trailer being pulled by a truck.
The trailer overturned and landed partially on the road.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed while the helicopter landed.
