EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Scratch the name of Eagle Mountain Mayor Heather Jackson off the list of public endorsers for U.S. Senate candidate Tim Bridgewater.
"I did not formally endorse him," she told the Deseret News on Friday. She was upset that Bridgewater had included her name in an online list and news release of key endorsers, and that the Deseret News had reported it.
"I told him that I need to be a quiet supporter," Jackson told the newspaper. "As a mayor, I did not feel it was appropriate to endorse a candidate for federal office."
She added, "He did not ask if he could put my name out as an endorser, and I did not say he could."
