SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sean O'Sullivan tossed seven strong innings to help lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 5-4 win over the Sacramento River Cats Thursday night.

O'Sullivan (3-2) allowed just one run on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks for his second consecutive victory.

Salt Lake took advantage of a pair of Sacramento errors to plate four unearned runs in the third inning. The first run came with the bases loaded on a throwing error.

Cory Aldridge followed with an RBI single to left and Mark Trumbo capped off the inning with a two run single to center.

The Bees led 5-1 going into the bottom of the ninth, but Corey Brown belted a three run homer off of Jeremy Hill to pull to within one. Bobby Cassevah then recorded the final two outs for his first save of the season.

Salt Lake took three out of four to win a series in Sacramento for just the third time since Raley Field opened in 2000.

Aldridge led the Bees with two hits.

Hall of Fame pitcher Roberts dies at 83

PHILADELPHIA — Long before pitch counts, setup men and closers, Robin Roberts usually finished what he started.

Roberts, the tireless Hall of Fame pitcher who led the Philadelphia Phillies to the 1950 National League pennant as part of the famed "Whiz Kids," died Thursday. He was 83. The right-hander was the most productive pitcher in the National League in the first half of the 1950s, topping the league in wins from 1952 to 1955, innings pitched from '51 to '55 and complete games from '52 to '56.

"He was a boyhood hero of mine," team president David Montgomery said.
