QUICK CHANGE — How quickly can a radio station change format? Fast, very fast.

After KENZ (FM-101.9) switched formats from adult alternative to Generation X on April 21, it was just four days later that KYLZ (FM-104.7), apparently spotted a new hole in the market. So it changed from a soft classic rock music format to modern music.

KYLZ had a 1.2 percent audience share last March, while KENZ posted a 2.5 percent share. Could the new KYLZ double its share? Perhaps. Go to www.1047thepoint.com for more information.

RADIO HAPPENINGS — KBYU (FM-89.1) will present a free concert celebrating the station's 50th anniversary at the Madeleine Festival of the Arts and Humanities on Sunday, May 16, 8 p.m. Selections from the concert will be re-broadcast on May 24-28 in the 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. hours and online at www.classical89.org/streaming.

— "Mick and Allen" of KBER will be at Intermountain Harley-Davidson, 2928 S. State, Saturday, May 8, 9-11 a.m., as part of the Ride for a Cure.
