FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Jesus Padilla scored twice, and Justin Braun and rookie Blair Gavina added goals in Chivas USA's 4-0 victory over the New England Revolution on Wednesday night.
Padilla scored in the 26th and 48th minutes, Braun connected in the 33rd, and Gavin capped the scoring in the 81st.
For the second straight match, the Revolution were forced to play a man down when Marko Perovic was given a red card in the 29th minute.
The Chivas attack looked potent against the Revolution even before the red card. In the 26th minute, Braun connected with Padilla for the first goal of the match.
Seven minutes later, Braun added one of his own when he split two defenders and fired a shot past a helpless Preston Burpo.
Padilla padded it in the 48th minute when he took Sacha Klejstan's ball and pushed it through for his second goal of the night. Gavin made it a 4-0 when he fired a 20-yard rocket that lodged in the upper corner of the goal.
DC UNITED 2, WIZARDS 1: At Washington, Danny Allsopp scored twice in the first half to help D.C. United win for the first time this season. Allsopp, acquired by United (1-5-0) as a free agent during the offseason, became the first Australian to score in MLS history.
GALAXY 2, RAPIDS 0: At Commerce City, Colo., Alan Gordon scored in the first half and Los Angeles won for the first time in Colorado in nearly eight years.
FC DALLAS 1, DYNAMO 0: At Houston, Ugo Ihemelu scored in the 79th minute, and FC Dallas, playing the final 18 minutes a man down, held on for its first victory of the season.
