Former Jazz swingman and 2004 first-round draft choice Kirk Snyder was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison by an Ohio judge for breaking into a neighbor's home, assaulting a sleeping man and shoving the man's wife, the Associated Press reported.

Snyder — who played for four NBA teams over four seasons, including New Orleans, Houston and Minnesota — also was ordered to pay the victims $5,500 in restitution, plus prosecution costs.

The University of Nevada product made no statement at sentencing, AP reported.

Snyder, 26, was convicted in April of aggravated burglary, felonious assault and assault as a result of the March 2009 break-in near in Cincinnati.

He had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity but was later found competent to stand trial, according to AP.

KOBE NAMED TO ALL DEFENSIVE TEAM: Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is on the NBA all-defensive first team for the fifth straight year.

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo made the first team for the first time, earning the second-most points behind the league's defensive player of the year, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, who had 57 points. Rondo received 50 points.

Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace also made the team for the first time, with the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James making it for the second straight year.

The second team consists of San Antonio Spurs center Tim Duncan, guards Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Thabo Sefolosha of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and forwards Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks and Anderson Varejao of the Cavaliers.

Two Utah Jazz players and former University of Utah star Andrew Bogut of the Milwaukee Bucks were among the other players receiving votes.

Jazz point guard Deron Williams wound up with 10 points and received two first-team votes. Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko had three points, including one first-team vote, and Bogut got eight points from the voting panel, which includes the NBA's 30 head coaches, who each select first and second teams by position and are not permitted to vote for players on their own teams.

LEBANON, Ohio — An Ohio judge has sentenced former NBA player Kirk Snyder to three years in prison for breaking into his neighbors' home and attacking them.

Warren County Judge Neal Bronson sentenced Snyder, 26, on Wednesday and ordered him to pay $5,550 in restitution.

Snyder made no comment. His attorney argued for probation.

A jury convicted Snyder in April of aggravated burglary, felonious assault and assault in the March 2009 break-in in Deerfield Township north of Cincinnati. Snyder had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity but was later found competent to stand trial.

The former University of Nevada star was the 16th player selected in the 2004 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz. He played for four NBA teams and a professional league in China.
