SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Bees' four game winning streak came to an end as the Sacramento River Cats rolled to a 7-3 win over Salt Lake on Tuesday afternoon.
The game was scoreless through three innings, but Sacramento broke through against Salt Lake starter Marco Albano with two runs in the fourth on a run-scoring groundout by Michael Taylor and an RBI single by Corey Brown. The River Cats added three runs in the fifth and two more in the six to go up 7-0. The Bees got on the scoreboard with two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth.
Albano (0-4) was charged with the loss, as he allowed three runs on just two hits in four innings, with five walks and one strikeout. Michael Ryan had a pair of doubles to lead the Bees. Kevin Frandsen, Mark Trumbo and Nate Sutton each had a hit and an RBI.
The Bees, now 1-1 in their current four-game set against the River Cats, will play again tonight at 8 p.m.
