ZION NATIONAL PARK — The name of a woman who fell 1,000 feet to her death in Zion National Park has been released nearly a week after the accident.

Regine Milobedzki, 63, of Upland, Calif., fell April 27 from Scout Lookout, a popular hiking trail along the West Rim near Angel's Landing.

The woman remained unidentified until April 29 because of a lack of identification on her, according to a statement from park officials. A local hotel reported a woman had not checked out on time. Using a driver's license photo, investigators determined the hotel guest was also the fall victim.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office continued their investigation Monday into how Milobedzki fell.
