Utah stage auditions

The Odyssey Dance Theatre will hold auditions for its studio company Odyssey 2 on April 30. It will also hold auditions for its professional company on May 1.

Both auditions will be held at the Point Performing Arts Academy, 55 N. 1400 West, Lindon.

Odyssey 2 auditions will be held from 4-7 p.m. Dancers ages 14-18 should come prepared to dance. Girls should bring pointe shoes. A head shot and résumé are welcome but not required.

Twelve dancers will receive a full scholarship and nine months of pre-professional training directed by award-winning choreographer Tiffany Carpenter. The dancers will also have the opportunity to perform with ODT next season.

Auditions for the professional company will be held May 1, noon-5 p.m. Dancers with strong ballet and jazz training should bring a head shot and résumé and be prepared to dance ballet, jazz, tap and funk.

Chosen dancers will be a part of Odyssey's 2010-11 season and will have the opportunity to participate in regional, national and international tours.

Dancers will work 32 weeks out of the year and receive a salary that ranges from $300-$600 a week.
