LOS ANGELES — The entertainment magnate behind "American Idol" and the show's charity broadcast is touting a lineup that includes Elton John and Carrie Underwood.
But Simon Fuller plays it coy when asked about the "Idol Gives Back" role of Bill and Melinda Gates, supporters of the fundraiser since it launched in 2007.
Fuller said the couple has done something "quite incredible" for the event but declined to provide details. Tune in and watch, he suggested.
"Idol Gives Back" airs 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday on Fox as part of the regular "American Idol" elimination episode. Seven contestants remain in the singing contest.
