ATLANTA — Rookie Jason Heyward hit a two-run single with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth inning, lifting the Atlanta Braves to a 4-3 comeback win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.
The Braves rallied in the ninth off Rockies fill-in closer Franklin Morales (0-1), who loaded the bases by giving up a single and two walks.
The Braves won two of three against Colorado, which took a 4-0 win on Ubaldo Jimenez's no-hitter on Saturday night.
The Braves didn't take long to show they wouldn't be held without a hit for the second straight game. Matt Diaz led off the first with a triple to center field. Martin Prado drove in Diaz with a sacrifice fly to left field.
DODGERS 2, GIANTS 1: At Los Angeles, Manny Ramirez hit a two-run, pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning for career homer No. 548.
Ramirez, who didn't start for the second straight day, because of tightness in his right calf, drove a 1-2 pitch from right-hander Sergio Romo (0-1) into the left-field pavilion with one out after Barry Zito walked pinch-hitter Garret Anderson. Ramon Troncoso (1-0) retired Juan Uribe on a fielder's choice with the bases-loaded to end the eighth to earn the victory.
CARDINALS 5, METS 3: At St. Louis, Adam Wainwright threw a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and scored on Ryan Ludwick's tiebreaking two-run homer in the eighth inning of the St. Louis Cardinals' 5-3 victory over the New York Mets on Sunday night. Colby Rasmus snapped an 0-for-18 slump with a tying three-run homer in the fifth against the Mets, who dropped two of three and have lost four straight series to open the season for the first time since 1997.
MARLINS 2, PHILLIES 0: At Philadelphia, Nate Robertson outdueled Cole Hamels into the seventh inning, and Dan Uggla drove in both runs with a homer and a double in Florida's second straight win over the Phillies. Making his third start for Florida after being acquired in a trade from the Detroit Tigers before the end of spring training, Robertson (2-0) weaved in and out of trouble, striking out four and walking four in 6 1-3 innings. Florida took two out of three in Philadelphia. Cole Hamels (2-1), gave up seven hits over eight-plus innings.
PIRATES 5, REDS 3: At Pittsburgh, Paul Maholm pitched four-hit ball into the seventh inning, Jason Jaramillo had a three-run double and the Pirates completed a three-game sweep.
Jay Bruce hit his first two homers of the season, solo shots in the fifth off Maholm (1-1) and the ninth off Octavio Dotel, but the Reds lost their fifth in a row.
