A David A. Ridenour op-ed published in the Deseret News on April 9 shows President Barack Obama's deceptive ways in his recent plan to open up the oil and gas exploration of the Outer Continental Shelf. Instead of opening it up, the plan cancels five lease sales in Alaska and delays a 2.9 million-acre lease sale off the coast of Virginia. Could Obama want to assure the votes of the two Virginia Democratic senators? Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar said, "If there's going to be revenue sharing with the coast states from the OCS, it's going to take a change in the law that's probably going to come through the energy and climate change bill." Another bribe?
