SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority will change TRAX and bus schedules and routes for the Salt Lake City Marathon on Saturday and encourages runners and supporters to use public transit to avoid parking and congestion.
TRAX service changes include:
Regular northbound Sandy service begins at 5:20 a.m. TRAX will run an additional early northbound service from the Murray Central Station beginning at 3:42 a.m., with trains every 10 minutes until 4:42 a.m.
Eastbound University trains will run every 20 minutes from Salt Lake Central beginning at 4:24 a.m. Eastbound University trains will depart Arena Station every 10 minutes between 4:29 a.m. and 6:29 a.m. The four direct Murray-to-University trains will not operate on Saturday.
The University line will not run between the Salt Lake Central and Library stations from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Riders traveling to the University of Utah should ride the Sandy line to Courthouse Station and walk east to Library Station. For passengers unable to walk, an accessible bus shuttle will be available.
The following buses will not run or will be on detour during the marathon:
Route 21: No service until 11:45 a.m.
Route 33: No service until 11:45 a.m.
Route 39: No service until 11:45 a.m.
Route 45: No service until 11:30 a.m.
Route 200: Buses will run on West Temple from 200 South to 900 South and will run the regular route from 900 South to the 5300 South TRAX station.
Route 203: Buses will run on West Temple from 200 South to 1300 South and will run regular routing from 1300 South to 3900 South TRAX station.
Route 205: No service until 1 p.m.
Route 209: No service until 11 a.m.
Route 220: No service until 10:30 a.m.
Routes 2, 3, 6, 209, 217, 455, 470, 516, 517, 519, 520: Downtown detours will be in effect.
