SOFTBALL: Utah Valley's Amber Sackett has been selected Great West Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Sackett, a senior from Taylorsville, Utah, batted .625 with five hits, seven RBIs and scored six runs in four games last week versus Weber State as the Wolverines went 3-1 on the week. The outfielder hit two home runs in Saturday's final game on her way to a 1.500 slugging percentage for the week.
In addition to Sackett, UVU's Megan Gardner, Kyli Flanary, Shaylyn Varney and Amanda Perez have been named the GWC Players of the Week this season.
