SALT LAKE CITY — On your mark. Get set. Avoid.
With runners taking to the streets for the Salt Lake City Marathon on Saturday, event organizers are asking residents to plan ahead to avoid road closures and traffic congestion.
Most intersections impacted by the race will remain closed until 1 p.m., but closures could last longer if all runners have not passed the intersection.
The following is a list of affected intersections and approximate closure times:
Foothill Drive and Wasatch Drive, 5-7:30 a.m.
Foothill Drive and 2300 East, 5-8:30 a.m.
2000 East and 3300 South, 5:45-9:15 a.m.
Highland Drive and 2700 South, 5:30-9 a.m.
Highland Drive and 1700 South, 5:30-9:45 a.m.
Highland Drive and 6200 South, 6:15-10:30 a.m.
4500 South and 500 East, 6:30-11:30 a.m.
2100 South and 500 East, 6:30 a.m.-noon.
State Street from 900 South to South Temple, 6:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
