Everyone dreams of living "happily ever after." But have you ever paused to consider what might happen if your every wish came true?

That's what Stephen Sondheim did in his Tony Award-winning musical "Into the Woods," running April 16-May 29 at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse, 99 E. 4700 South, Ogden.

Act I of the beloved classic feels like many of the fairy tales you grew up with — handsome princes, wicked witches, a baker and his wife.

But Act II shows the audience that sometimes what we think we want isn't really what we want at all.

The production stars Brett Johnson, Jed Broberg, Sarah Johnson, Krista Fuller Baer, Sally Paskins and W. Derek Hendricks.

Shows are Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7-$12 (801-393-0070 or www.terraceplayhouse.com).

"The Curious Savage," April 16-May 8, Heritage Theatre, 2505 S. Hwy. 89, Perry.

The warm-hearted tale of Mrs. Ethel Savage, an eccentric, wealthy widow whose greedy stepchildren disagree with how she wants to spend her inheritance — so they have her committed, where she meets a host of wonderful misfits.

An endearing story about what it means to be family. The show stars Carolyn Abel, Mike Bennett, Allen Smith, Kajsa Nelson and Courtney Earl.

Shows are Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, 7:30 p.m., with matinees available. Tickets are $8-$9 (435-723-8392 or www.heritagetheatreutah.com),

"Footloose," April 15-24, Midvale Main Street Theatre, 7711 S. 700 West, Midvale.

The musical is based on the hit movie of the same name. Ren, who is from the big city, struggles to fit in the small town where he just moved with his mom. It's a town that has outlawed dancing.

Shows are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 7 p.m. Tickets are $16 (801-566-0596 or www.mainstreettheatre.com).
