ROY — A 4-year-old boy died Thursday after he was run over in the driveway of his home.
The incident happened about 11 a.m. near 2800 W. 5750 South, said Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham, when the boy slipped out of the home unnoticed.
"He was in his own driveway when a vehicle driven by family members backed up," the chief said. "They had not seen the child."
The child was taken by helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police are continuing to investigate the case. Whinham said they will not release the child's name until all of the boy's family has been notified of his death.
