CORINNE, Box Elder County — Three students were hurt Wednesday when the school bus they were riding in was rear-ended by a semitrailer.

The crash occurred about 8 a.m. near the intersection of 2800 West and state Route 13, said Box Elder County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Kevin Potter. The bus had stopped at a stop sign, Potter said, when the truck driver failed to stop in time.

The crash did very little damage to the vehicles. Three children on the bus complained of minor injuries. They were treated at the scene before being released to their parents, Potter said.

The remaining 18 students on the bus were transferred to a second bus and taken to school. The driver of the truck was cited for following too closely, Potter said.
