In 1991, Ralph Rodgers, who once managed the old Promised Valley Playhouse, opened Pages Lane Theater in Centerville.

When Rodgers passed away in 1997, the family donated the theater to the Davis County Performing Arts Corporation, and it reopened as Rodgers Memorial Theatre, a mainstay of family friendly community theater.

From those humble beginnings, Rodgers is movin' on up again — this time to a new facility and under a new name: CenterPoint Legacy Theatre, part of the new Davis Cultural Arts Center.

The theater is a partnership between Rodgers Memorial Theatre, Davis County Arts organizations, the cities of Bountiful and Centerville, and the Davis County Commission. Together, they are building the new state-of-the-art facility. Ground was broken on the facility in May, 2009, and the curtain will rise on the first production in 2011.

Although 90 percent of the funding is in place, additional funds are still needed.

CenterPoint has come up with many ways for patrons to contribute and help keep the arts alive and well in Davis County.
