SOLDIER SUMMIT, Wasatch County — Three people were injured Friday — one of them seriously — in a head-on crash on U.S. 6.
The crash occurred about 10:25 a.m. near the Utah-Wasatch county line when the driver of a car lost control on wet roads, crossed the center line and crashed into a pickup truck, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden.
The driver of the car, a 60-year-old man, was extricated from his vehicle and taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital with serious injuries, Roden said.
The driver of the pickup, a 35-year-old man, and his 4-year-old son were taken by ambulance to Castleview Hospital in Price in fair condition.
Roden said everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt, although the 4-year-old was in the front with no car seat, just a seat belt.
Alcohol and drug use do not appear be factors in the crash, and a preliminary investigation shows speeds were not excessive.
