HILL AIR FORCE BASE — Hill Air Force Base is conducting an operational readiness exercise this week, and residents near the installation may notice increased activity, use of the public address system and additional flying through Friday.
Hill holds these exercises at different times during the year to hone the skills of its airmen under simulated wartime conditions.
Airmen are required to wear chemical gear and gas masks, conduct self aid and buddy care, and take cover at different times. The exercise also offers realistic scenarios to enhance the proficiency of the pilots in the 388th and 419th fighter wings.
