WEST JORDAN — Soft-spoken and courteous, with their speech peppered with "Yes, sir" and "No, sir," two teenage boys testified Wednesday in graphic detail about various sex acts they said took place last year with a former middle school teacher's aide.
Andrea Billingsley, 31, was ordered to stand trial for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with one of the teens while she supervised him during an in-school suspension room, as well as alleged sex acts involving him and the other teen boys in a local park.
The young men were 15 and 16 when these events allegedly took place.
Billingsley is facing one count of rape and three counts of forcible sodomy, all first-degree felonies. She also is charged with three counts of forcible sex abuse, a second-degree felony.
She originally was charged with five felonies.
But after hearing one of the teens testify at Wednesday's preliminary hearing, prosecutor Peter Leavitt informed 3rd District Judge Terry Christiansen that he wanted to add two more criminal charges, bringing the total to seven.
Billingsley had worked at West Jordan Middle School, 7550 S. Redwood Road.
The first teen said he had excessive tardiness at school and, as punishment, was told to spend one lunch period in the in-school suspension room that Billingsley supervised. He said another male student was in the room, but was asleep. The teen testified Billingsley put a cell phone with pictures of her naked breasts in front of the him and asked, "Is this what you're looking for?"
The youth testified Billingsley began feeling his chest and biceps, slid her hands inside his pants and fondled him, then performed oral sex.
A few weeks after school ended, he said a friend relayed a message from Billingsley to call her, which he did. He and another male friend met up with Billingsley, who allegedly had e-mailed other naked pictures of her to the first youth. The three went to a local park in her vehicle.
Billingsley and both teens ended up in the back of the vehicle where she engaged in various sexual acts with both young men, according to their testimony. The second youth testified that one encounter involved all three individuals.
When defense attorney Dean Zabriskie questioned the first teen, he admitted telling friends on a sports team about what had happened between him and Billingsley in the school building, and the second teenager under questioning admitted his friend "likes to brag quite a bit."
Third District Judge Terry Christiansen set Billingsley's next court hearing for April 7.
Billingsley had passed a background check and was on the school staff from August 2008 to May 2009, working about 17 hours a week, but was not brought back due to funding problems, according to media reports.
