High school basketball: All-star girls set for senior showcase

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Women's Basketball Coaches Association is hosting the annual senior all-star games at Highland High School Saturday.

The first game features the 1A senior all-stars against the 2A senior all-stars at 11 a.m. The second game will pit the 3A senior all-stars against the 4A senior all-stars at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m., the 5A North senior all-stars will face the 5A South senior all-stars.

The cost is $5 for adults and anyone over 12 years old. Children under 12 are free.

The 5A senior all-stars playing for the North Team are: Jennifer Hazlett, Syracuse; Meagan Butler, Syracuse; Britlie Silvester, Clearfield; Amanda Gardner, Northridge; Whitney Jenkins, Skyline; Katie Walker, Skyline; Alissa Willard, Roy; Kylie Hirschi, Brighton; Katie Tominaga, Brighton; and Leah Ellertson, Viewmont.

The coach of the 5A North Senior all-star squad is Rob Reisbeck, Syracuse High.

The 5A senior all-stars playing for the South Team are: Amy Krommenhoek, American Fork; Saane Lo'amanu, Taylorsville; Becca Beaudoin, Alta; Nicole Newbold, Bingham; Rachel Gines, Bingham; Mariah Duran, Murray; Caitlin Nelson, Riverton; Kelsey Heard, Hillcrest; Rilee Rhees, Fremont; and LaChere Earl, Fremont.

The coach of the 5A South Senior all-stars is Glenn Larson, Pleasant Grove, and the assistant coach is Corey Clayton, American Fork.

The 4A senior all-stars are: Morgan Bailey, Timpanogos; Ashley Kuchar, Provo; Elizabeth Ricks, Snow Canyon; Sadie Clements, Springville; Maggie Plothow, Orem; Marissa Robbins, Stansbury; Beauty Tuakulau, Highland; Amy Andrus, Sky View; Brynn Foster, Mountain Crest; and Rachel Spinks, Pine View.
