Hip-hop artist to hold free church concert

"Finding Your Greater Purpose," with hip-hop and gospel recording artist Markilo Allen, will be today at 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 2375 E. 3300 South.

The concert is free and open to the public, but an offering will be taken.

New Pilgrim Baptist plans 24-hour vigil

New Pilgrim Baptist Church, 5133 S. Heath Ave. (5130 West), will hold a 24-hour prayer vigil from Friday, March 26, at 6 p.m. to Saturday, March 27, at 6 p.m. on the church property. The congregation will pray for the community and focus on the following areas at the following times:

Healing and Deliverance (March 26 at 6 p.m.), Financial Freedom (March 26 at 7p.m.), Marriage and Family (March 26 at 8 p.m.), Unemployment (March 27 at 3 p.m.), Our Country and Military Families (March 27 at 4 p.m.).

All are welcome to stop by the vigil at any time or to submit prayer requests to prayer@newpilgrimbaptist.com or call 801-969-0137.

Church of Christ to perform 'Wise Man'

OGDEN — Two dozen members, youths and friends of Congregational United Church of Christ, 3350 Harrison Blvd., will perform a readers theater-style version of "The Other Wise Man" on Sunday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m. All members of the public are invited to this special Palm Sunday service, which will begin with a processional with palms.

The fourth, or other, wise man is not found in the Bible.

Community Seder March 29 in Salt Lake

Chabad Lubavitch of Utah holds its annual Passover Community Seder — an in-depth Hebrew/English Passover experience — on Monday, March 29, 7:30 p.m., at 1760 S. 1100 East.

Muslim conference coming to the University of Utah

The Muslim Student Association of the University of Utah will sponsor a one-day conference for all, Muslims or non-Muslims, on "Navigating Our Path with an Islamic GPS" April 2 and 3 at the OHS Building.

Disaster workshop offered April 7

The Lutheran Social Service of Utah will co-sponsor a free disaster preparedness response workshop, "Today's Wounds, Tomorrow's Health," on Wednesday, April 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lutheran Social Service of Utah, 4392 S. 900 East.

There will be a free light lunch and breakfast, as well as free 72-hour kits.

Monastery hosting vocational retreat

HUNTSVILLE — The Holy Trinity Trappist Monastery in Huntsville will host a "live-in-experience" vocational retreat for men April 7-11.

The monks work on a scenic 2,000-acre farm and pray throughout the day. Individual retreats may be made at your convenience. There is no cost for a retreat.
