Health care worse in U.S.

I lived in Germany for 14 years, until 2006. What a shock to return to the United States and find out that not only are waiting times longer here and health care not necessarily better, but I pay through the nose for co-payments and deductibles along with my monthly premium. Worse yet, none of this is based on my income. What kind of country have we become? When will we learn that health care and education are not market commodities and belong to the public sector?
