What is it about tax increases that so hypnotizes the Deseret News editorial board? After a brief flirtation with "no tax increases" last summer, the newspaper has returned to its tax-hike-proponent roots, advocating tax increases for Jordan School District.
Where are the salary increases Jordan taxpayers received last year, which suddenly made them flush with cash in the middle of a severe recession?
The taxpayers have made it clear that they expect all levels of government to live within their means and — for the most part — government seems to be getting it.
Only the Deseret News seems incapable of listening to the public. Get some help for that tin ear, editors.
