As we approached the entrance way of a local business, we noted the distinct odor of secondhand smoke. We observed the front-seat passenger of a small car parked in front smoking a cigarette. The window on the driver's side of the vehicle was open about 4-5 inches. Strapped in a booster seat directly behind the smoking passenger was a very young child. Fact: Secondhand smoke exposure causes many illnesses in children. Arkansas, California, Louisiana and Maine now ban smoking in vehicles with children. Twenty other states, including Utah and the District of Colombia, have introduced similar legislation.
Let's improve the lives of Utah's children.
