Summary

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham insists it's been a typical offseason, a little drama here and a little drama there.

Johnson fills a vacancy created when cornerbacks coach J.D. Williams accepted a job at UNLV. Utah special teams coordinator Jay Hill will take Williams' spot with the defensive backs, while Dave Schramm replaces Hill as the tight ends coach. Schramm and receivers coach Aaron Roderick will share offensive coordinator duties this season.

EXTRA POINTS: Kicker Nick Marsh, who was suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules last season, has been reinstated and is slated to replace the graduated Ben Vroman on kickoffs ... Running back Matt Asiata (knee), offensive lineman Sam Brenner (foot), running back Beau Burton (foot), defensive end Derrick Shelby (knee) and wide receiver Shaky Smithson (shoulder) will not participate in spring ball while recovering from postseason surgeries ... Defensive lineman James Aiono, offensive lineman Ron Tongaonevai, tight end Westlee Tonga, defensive back Mike Honeycutt and Payne were not with the team last fall but joined the team in January ... Highly touted left tackle John Cullen, a junior college All-American, headlines those expected to join the Utes during the summer bridge program entry point after spring drills are complete ... All spring practices and scrimmages are open to the public.

After.....

a LONG basketball season, can't wait to see KWhit get back to work.

Looking forward to see how Wynn has progressed, and which LB's/DB's will step up. Not to mention seeing the stacked D-Line go to work.

Finally

a Yewt fan that admits that their basketball season was horrible. Whit's looking for a few players, but Boylen's looking for 12.
