ZION NATIONAL PARK — Two visitor facilities in Zion National Park are reopening after a winter closure.
Park officials say the Zion Human History Museum reopened Saturday. It highlights the interaction between people and the park's natural resources.
The South Campground will reopen March 13. Its 126 sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Canyon Trail Rides, which provides horse rides in the park, also on Saturday started offering one- and three-hour tours on the Sand Bench Trail.
In other opening news, superintendent Jock Whitworth says the Zion Human History Museum and a bookstore opened Saturday.
In addition, the park's horse concessioner, Canyon Trail Rides, resumed offering one- and three-hour rides.
This Saturday, the park's South Campground with 126 sites will open next Saturday.
Watchman Campground has been open all winter, but campers now have to reserve a site there. It was open on a first-come, first service basis for the winter.
