BOISE — Boise State grabbed top team honors in a three-way gymnastics meet Friday night at BSU's Taco Bell Arena, with BYU finishing second and Utah State coming in third despite posting its second-best beam score of the season.
The host Broncos won the meet with a score of 195.625, while the Cougars posted a 193.750 and the Aggies were a distant third with 189.225.
The Aggies were bolstered by the return of junior Lyndsie Boone, who missed the previous four meets and last month of action with a knee injury suffered back on Feb. 5. Boone was second in the all-around with a 38.225 final score, while sophomore Haley Hogan was third with a career-best 38.050.
BSU tallied a 49.100 on vault, 48.900 on bars, 48.775 on beam and 48.850 on floor for its winning score of 195.625. BYU logged a 48.250 on floor, 48.800 on vault, 48.550 on bars and 48.150 on beam for a 193.750 final score.
USU totalled its second-best beam score of the season with 47.850, as well as posting a 46.750 on bars, a 46.675 on floor and a 47.950 on vault for a final score of 189.225. The Aggies' 47.950 on vault was their fifth-best of the season.
