CLEVELAND — LeBron James had 40 points, 13 rebounds and six assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers beat Detroit 99-92 on Friday night in a game delayed when Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey collapsed late in the third quarter.
Stuckey's vital signs were stable, and he was conscious and breathing on his own at the Cleveland Clinic, according to the Pistons. He was transported there for tests.
Stuckey was wheeled off the court on a stretcher after he collapsed into a coach's arms on the bench. Play was halted for 12 minutes as the medical staff worked on him, placing an oxygen mask on his face and wheeling him into an ambulance.
MAGIC 97, NETS 87: At East Rutherford, N.J., Matt Barnes scored 14 of his 16 points in the first quarter when Orlando opened a double-digit lead and the Magic won their fourth straight with a 97-87 decision over the New Jersey Nets. Vince Carter scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half, Dwight Howard added 11 points and 16 rebounds and the Magic hit 13 3-pointers in beating the Nets for the third time this season.
BOBCATS 98, LAKERS 83: At Charlotte, N.C., Stephen Jackson scored 21 points, Gerald Wallace added 17 points and 10 rebounds, and the Charlotte Bobcats handed the weary Los Angeles Lakers their second straight loss. With Michael Jordan watching courtside in Charlotte's first win since he agreed to buy the team, the Bobcats continued their surprising success against the defending champions.
NUGGETS 122, PACERS 114: At Denver, Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points and the Denver Nuggets overcame the injury-related absences of Kenyon Martin and Ty Lawson to beat the Indiana Pacers. J.R. Smith added 20 points off the bench and Chauncey Billups had 14 for the Nuggets, who sent the Pacers to their fifth loss in a row on the road.
MAVERICKS 108, KINGS 100: At Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki had 31 points and 12 rebounds, rookie Roddy Beaubois added a career-high 22 points and the Dallas Mavericks extended their season-high winning streak to 10 games with a 108-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings. BUCKS 102, WIZARDS 74: At Washington, Before the game, Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders called Milwaukee's Andrew Bogut "maybe the best center in the Eastern Conference. Bogut led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds despite sitting out the fourth quarter.
