The 2010 David P. Gardner Lecture takes place Tuesday, March 9, 7 p.m. at the IJ & Jenne Wagner Jewish Community Center, 2 N. Medical Drive, Salt Lake City. Aaron David Miller, author of "The Much Too Promised Land: America's Elusive Search for Arab-Israeli Peace," will discuss "Gulliver's Troubles: Obama and America in the Middle East." The lecture is free and open to the public.
Joseph Sax kicks off the Stegner's Center's 15th annual symposium, "The Challenge of Sustainability," with a lecture, which is free and open to the public, Thursday, March 13, 6:30 p.m., at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, Sutherland Moot Courtroom. There will be a reception at 6 p.m. in the S.J. Quinney College of Law foyer. The symposium is being held at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13. Registration is required. Tickets range are $100-$150, which includes continental breakfast and snack breaks. The Salt Lake County Library is pleased to partner with the Utah Grizzlies for the annual Griz Kids Winter Reading Program. Children ages 5-14 are encouraged to stop into any Salt Lake County Library and pick up a winter reading record to track their progress now through the end of March. Kids who complete the reading record will receive a prize and a voucher good for a free ticket to an upcoming Grizzlies game.
