'Stand-in' dads to blame

As sad as domestic violence is, the reaction by some zealous reformers doesn't help the cause. Harping about "bad dads" or evil husbands misses the mark. Even the most conservative (and accurate) reports about domestic violence show that it occurs mostly in broken homes where a biological dad isn't present. Real dads and husbands, from intact families, are far less likely to commit violence in the home than are "stand-in" men.

The truth is most domestic violence occurs in broken homes where an unmarried, separated or divorced woman has invited a live-in "companion" to join the family.
