So the madness begins.

With one week left in the conference regular season, just about every Division I team is jockeying for position. Here is a rundown of what's left to play for each team:

Men

BYU

(26-4, 11-3)

Remaining schedule: at Utah (14-14, 7-7); at TCU (13-16, 5-9)

Standings status: The Cougars need two wins and New Mexico to lose a home game against TCU to share the MWC regular-season title. However, the Lobos own the tiebreaker for the No. 1 seed. A win against either the Utes or Horned Frogs clinches the No. 2 spot.

MWC tournament: March 10-13 at Las Vegas. As the No. 2 seed, BYU will face the No. 7 seed — most likely TCU.

NCAA chances: Cougars are a lock for an at-large bid if they don't win the MWC Tournament.

Utah

(14-14, 7-7)

Remaining schedule: vs. BYU (26-4, 11-3); at Colorado State (15-13, 6-8)

Standings status: The Utes are pretty much locked into the No. 5 seed. A Rams loss at San Diego State or against Utah would clinch it.

MWC tournament: March 10-13 at Las Vegas. Because UNLV holds the tiebreaker against SDSU, the Utes' likely first-round opponent would be the fourth-seeded Aztecs.

NCAA chances: Utes need to win the MWC Tournament to get the automatic NCAA bid.

Utah State

(24-6, 13-2)

Remaining schedule: vs. New Mexico State (19-9, 11-3)

Standings status: If NMSU loses at Nevada on Thursday, USU would clinch the WAC regular-season title — the Aggies' third straight. If NMSU wins, then the Aggies can finish them off in the Spectrum.

WAC tournament: March 11-13 at Reno, Nev. Utah State would play either Idaho, Hawaii or Boise State in the first round. The Aggies went 6-0 vs. those teams this season.

NCAA chances: Winning the tournament assures an NCAA bid, but USU's resume should be enough to get them in should the Aggies get upset.
