WEST VALLEY CITY — A man wanted in connection with a double stabbing at a party in December has been arrested and booked into jail.
On Dec. 19, two men got into a fight while attending a party at 7309 S. 2645 West. During the fight, one man suddenly felt what he thought were punches in his back. When he turned around, he saw Jeffrey Vigil standing with a knife and realized he had just been stabbed in the buttocks and shoulder, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court.
Another man then tried to chase Vigil, but he, too, was stabbed in the shoulder, the charges state. The injuries to both victims were minor.
West Valley police received information Thursday on Vigil's possible whereabouts. Officers went to a residence near 7100 West and 4000 South where they arrested Vigil and another man without incident.
Vigil was charged in 3rd District Court in January with attempted murder, a first-degree felony; and aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. West Valley police said Vigil was also a suspect in a stabbing in their area on Jan. 1. That stabbing is still under investigation.
